Today is our first wedding anniversary.
This time last year I was about to walk down the aisle on my dad’s arm, listening to the strains of Vivaldi competing with the sounds of the school’s rugby match. This year I am with my husband, after a lovely celebration meal last night at Casamia (in keeping with our anniversary tradition of eating at Italian restaurants).
It was a slightly cool Autumn day as we stood under the gazebo and promised to be together forever, witnessed by the people we love most in the world.
I cannot believe it’s already been a year.
(Although I still haven’t cleaned my dress.)
Our wedding day passed in such a blur that I’d love to relive it all; to have the chance to replay certain sections, to be part of conversations that took place on the other side of the room, to spend more time with everyone who made such an effort to come and celebrate with us.
I also wish I could still remember all the steps to our first dance, which was a rumba to “Nobody Does It Better”.
Oh well, at least we have some great photos.
Marrying S was one of the best things I’ve ever done. Every day I fall in love with him a little bit more, and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have met someone who makes me so happy.
Here’s to the next twelve months!
